Thank you for considering The Inner Journey with Mirabela. The following information outlines how I work and what you can expect when engaging in therapy with me.

Initial Consultation

I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss what has brought you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we feel like a good fit to work together.

Sessions

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes.

Sessions are available:

  • Face-to-face at The Parkstone Practice, Poole

  • Online (video)

  • Telephone

  • Walk & Talk Therapy (where appropriate)

Fees

Current fees are available on the Sessions & Fees page of this website.

Payment is required before or on the day of your appointment, unless otherwise agreed.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, will normally be charged at the full session fee.

Exceptions may be considered in exceptional circumstances.

Confidentiality

Everything discussed in therapy is treated as confidential.

There are, however, some rare circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken. These include situations where:

  • there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or another person;

  • there are safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult;

  • disclosure is required by law or a court order.

Wherever possible, I will discuss this with you before sharing information.

Clinical Supervision

As required by the BACP Ethical Framework, I engage in regular clinical supervision to support safe, ethical and effective practice.

Client confidentiality is maintained at all times during supervision.

Record Keeping

Brief clinical notes are maintained in accordance with UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and professional ethical requirements.

Communication

Email is suitable for arranging appointments and general enquiries only.

Please avoid sending sensitive or urgent clinical information by email.

I aim to respond to enquiries within 1–2 working days.

Crisis Support

I am unable to provide a crisis or emergency service.

If you require urgent support, please contact:

  • your GP;

  • NHS 111;

  • your local Mental Health Crisis Team;

  • or call 999 if you or someone else is at immediate risk.

Professional Standards

I am an Individual Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I am fully insured, registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate registered with the DBS Update Service.

These Practice Policies may be reviewed and updated from time to time.
