Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. I offer a free 15-minute telephone consultation where we can briefly discuss what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether we're a good fit to work together.
-
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your hopes and goals, and consider how we might work together. There is no pressure to share everything at once—we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
-
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place weekly, although this can be discussed depending on your individual needs.

-
Walk & Talk Therapy takes place outdoors while walking at a comfortable pace. Some people find that being in nature and moving gently makes it easier to talk, reflect, and process difficult emotions. We will discuss whether this approach is suitable for you before arranging a session.
-
There is no set number of sessions. Some people benefit from short-term counselling, while others prefer longer-term therapy. We will regularly review our work together to ensure it continues to meet your needs.

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of therapy. What you share will remain confidential, except in rare circumstances where there is a legal or ethical duty to share information; for example, if there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or someone else. We will discuss confidentiality fully during our first session.

Seeking support can feel like a big step, and it's natural to have questions or uncertainties. Counselling offers a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts and emotions without judgement. If you're unsure, the free initial consultation is a good opportunity to ask questions and see whether working together feels right for you.
If you couldn't find the answer you were looking for, I'd be happy to help. Feel free to get in touch, and I'll do my best to answer any questions you may have.
